“Let Music Be Thy Medicine” a wise man once said. Music is one of the foundations to a good life, and even more so underground / independent music. BASSment is one of those clubs pushing just that, high quality underground music in an unforgettable event space. BASSment approached Studio Dais to help them products a run of custom soft enamel pins that they could use to promote their Patreon page and give something back to their clubber. We caught up with them to ask about how they are navigating through Covid-19 and what 2021 holds.
Interview With BASSment Huddersfield
Tell us about BASSment Nightclub, when it was founded and what the club stands for?
BASSment was started to fill the need for a professionally run music event space that caters for bass heavy music genres in Huddersfield, UK. We opened the venue in 2017 after we couldn’t find a club in Huddersfield big enough that would cater for our crowd and style of music. We believe that BASSment is a safe place to enjoy great underground music, in it’s best setting – a small dark room with a massive sound system!
What is the current climate in the underground music / club scene?
Difficult due to COVID-19, but apart from that, it’s looking very healthy. Club music is reaching the charts, and the barrier of entry is significantly easier to get through than in the past decades.
How is BASSment pushing through these pressing times (how are you innovating, fighting on, keeping clubbers engaged)?
Luckily we operate as a recording studio alongside the club event space. We also release limited runs of clothing, podcasts and music. It has been the thing keeping us afloat whilst we wait for events to restart in the coming months.
What does the future of clubbing and underground music hold in 2021 and beyond?
Hopefully when the ban is lifted, we can resume the old ways. With venues not being able to operate, it’s really proven that live music events are the best way to experience music.
What have been the biggest challenges for BASSment in 2020 (apart from the obvious Corona)?
Biggest challenges apart from Corona is getting stuff done with the small team that we have. We’re forever expanding into new territory whilst improving our existing services.
2021 And Beyond
What can we expect from BASSment in 2021 and beyond?
Once lockdown is lifted, you can expect more wicked parties. In terms of studio stuff, expect more upgrades and more great music coming from our them. We have also been developing a music training program for a couple of years which is almost ready to go, so look out for that. Podcasts will continue to roll out, so will clothing and new music releases!
How have your soft enamel pins made by Studio Dais helped you reach your goals?
The soft enamel pins made by the team at Studio Dais are 100%! They’re incredible! We will be using these to help with our Patreon funder as well as to give back to our customers as a way of saying thank you for the support over the years.
How was your experience working with Studio Dais?
Amazing. The team work quickly but don’t rush, the quality is insane, and the customer service is amazing! We would recommend!
Any wise words of wisdom for our readers and your own family alike?
If you have passion for something, don’t let anything stop you from reaching your goals.
This was an enjoyable job working with one of the UK’s leading underground nightclubs. The custom soft enamel pins came out great, and we don’t doubt that they will help the guys at BASSment to succeed and thrive into 2021 when they will be bouncing back with the same amount of energy they started with!
