Bionic Seven Vintage Clothing have been to the go-to vintage store in Manchester for 8 years, situated firmly in the historic Northern Quarter, at 60 Port Street. The shop is distinctive for it’s exemplary green façade, but more importantly its selection of fine vintage clothing for men, women and grown up kids alike.

Bionic Seven Vintage Clothing caters for everyone with a fine taste, the aesthetic is high class but accessible, you can find 1950s Dennison Smocks, hanging alongside 1990s Berghaus Trango outwear jackets. Or how about a mint pair of British Made Dr. Martens worn with USA made Levi’s 501s and a 1960s U.S Marines sports sweater with graphic prints? Endless style!

Store owners Nick and Imran contacted us for some new custom made hard enamel pin badges, and we got straight to work! We caught up with Nick and Imran recently and here’s what they had to tell us about their operation and their experience working with Studio Dais.

The Interview

Who are you and where are you currently based?

We are Bionic Seven. We have been located at 60 Port St, Manchester for eight years and is ran and ran by Nick Rhodes & Imran Kazmi. We’ve been in business since 2003 excelling in providing timeless premium hand picked vintage & second hand modern classic clothing.

Tell is about Bionic Seven.

Our ethos is to present our customers with the best selection of wide ranging one-off clothing available in Manchester. To do this we work closely with a great array of wholesalers who we hand pick specific clothing from to give the highest quality product. Before any clothing hits the shop it’s washed or dry cleaned so it can be bought and worn immediately if required and presented on the rails in a thoughtfully curated order to take away the pain of searching through the usual over crammed rails in most vintage shops.

The Hard Work

All the hard work rewards come when we watch our customers seriously happy and comfortable purchasing clothing from the 40’s/50’s/60’s/70’s/80’s and 90’s alongside future classic labels from the 2000’s as it all has a timeless relationship and without the price tags needing a pair of sunglasses to look at!

At the moment the market has obviously slowed under the necessary Covid19 / Corona lockdown, however we’ve been met with an influx of new customers and fantastic support from regular customers via the platform of Instagram and other social media platforms.

Just before the lockdown started we’d been in America on a buying trip so when it’s safe to open the shop doors again, we have a really strong selection of fresh USA gear ready and waiting!

We’re also waiting on a run of t-shirts that are currently being printed which were inspired by the pin badges made by Studio Dais!

How have your custom pins from Studio Dais been used to help your business and how was it working with us?

The experience we had from Studio Dais was as smooth and professional as we could possibly wish for. The badges are superior quality and have been a perfect thank you to customers who have bought items from us in the last couple of years.
