Who are you and where are you currently based?

Cool Film is a film subscription service for analogue photographers who love the 35mm and medium format film experience. We provide monthly mystery boxes that contain two rolls of 35mm or medium format film. You might remember rolls of film before digital cameras took over and everyone was taking photos on actual cellulose film. Unsurprisingly, film is not dead, and it’s a niche industry that is continuing to grow year on year, much like the love for vinyl records!

We are biased but recommend anyone who is into photography to get hold of a film camera. Just avoid those single-use disposable cameras because they are not sustainable or good for the environment! We also sell film separately from our monthly mystery boxes and some cool film camera related merchandise that we design ourselves, such as these incredible enamel pins made by Studio Dais!

Tell us about your brand and the industry you are in?

We are in a very cool industry with an incredible community of people and it’s growing fast! There are lots of film photographers out there, and they are amazingly active on social media. Of course, our brand is all about the spirit of community – people who are passionate about film photography and lots of other things. Our industry is not changing fast but has been influenced a lot by digital, so it is fantastic to be able to create something ‘physical’ for our community.
