Who has ever wanted to fly planes? It costs a lot of money to go through with your full pilot’s license, somewhere in the region of £40,000+, a little out of our price range! The next best thing is model plane flying surly!? We were contacted by Romeo of Epping & North Weald Model Flying Club after a vigilante manufacturer pulled a fast one on them and created quite a poor quality model plane woven patch in comparison to our own. Please see pictures. We had to step in fast to save the day! We thought it would be a good time to catch up with the club and see how the new woven patches are being used!
Houston, We Have A Problem! Model Plane Woven Patches Have Crashed!
First of all, let’s see what Romeo brought to us. We were quite shocked when we seen these model plane woven patches! How could you let anyone walk out your store with this? We had to step in!
The Solution For A Safe Landing!
Shortly after Romeo decided to trust us, we got to it and designed a proper artwork approval form for him to agree on. Every client has this professional design treatment given to them at Studio Dais.
After he agreed to the artwork we got busy with manufacturing! But before we show you them, let’s see what he has to say about his club and his experience working with Studio Dais.
The Interview With Romeo of ENWMFC
Who are you and where are you currently based?
Epping and North Weald Model Flying Club (ENWMFC) is a long-established model flying club, affiliated to the BMFA, based at Merlin Field and flying beside North Weald Airfield located in Essex, a stone’s throw away from the M11exit at J7. The club’s website www.enwmc.bmfa.club is updated regularly with information about our events, builds and more! ENWMFC are looking to drive a community feel back into our club, as well as model plane flying as a whole.
The Building Of A Flying Club!
We will be holding events such as scale days, fly-ins, bring and buy sales, fun-fly’s, and family and friends’ events towards the summer months. So please check our website for details or alternatively contact us and we will provide an update with further details.
Flying Clubs In The 1970s!
The origins of the Club go back to the early 1970s, the early days saw North Weald flyers pioneer aspects of the hobby such as air to air photography, early gas turbine development, multi cylinder radial engines and the nascent large model movement. Around the same time a regular flyer was Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna!
Tell us about your brand and the industry you are in?
The club logo has recently been redesigned taking inspiration from the original club logo from the 70’s. With the new design and brand, we are hoping to become recognised by newcomers to the hobby and be easily recognisable from other clubs. The modelling industry is shrinking in size and unfortunately needs the younger generations to take onboard the hobby so that it lasts for many years. Whether newcomers are interested in drone racing to flying model helicopters our society the BMFA caters for all and is happy to help all.
How have your custom patches from Studio Dais been used to help your business?
With the new logo and COVID-19 still upon us, the patches have helped bring a community feel back to the club. It has given many members the opportunity to remember and know that the club is always here for them and the community of flyers and members. We hope the woven patches will be something we can sell to the public at event days as a remembrance of visiting the club. We are also hoping that our members and name will spread with more and more modelers showing off our brand and club ethos!
How was it working with Studio Dais?
Studio Dais has provided welcoming, rapid and with excellent customer service even during the lockdown. From the first engagement with the company I have had nothing but the very best customer service and of course our model plane woven patches are to die for! Their service and products are simply fantastic! Studio Dais are a credit to their industry and really know how to produce amazing quality products at excellent prices.
Making The Impossible Model Plane Woven Patches Happen!
They can even make the impossible happen! After dealing with several other companies in trying to get our patch made, and coming away with only 10% of the product Studio Dais created, I would never choose anyone else. I will be recommending Studio Dais to all of the other clubs as well as the BMFA for patches and the promotional gifts such as pin badges. I can’t wait to order more and continue this exciting new business relation.
Any wise words of wisdom to pass on to our readers?
Don’t mess around looking through google for other companies, contact Studio Dais and let them take of the hard work of turning your idea into true jaw dropping merchandise, you really won’t be disappointed!
